Success/Failure:

I have had different results with different treatments over the years. Although some treaments have been affective, non of them have ever cured me of dermographism.

Topical Creams with cortizone: (BAD)
- I will never take any prescription that is a steriod. Steriods cause serious side effects which can worsen your situation. It did for me

Antihistamines ( Mixed feelings )
- Temporary relief, but long term worry
- Expensive
- Drowsness, inablity to think clearly
- Reduces symtoms greatly
- Starting to think I am allergic to antihistamines

Ranitadine/Misc Drugs ( Negative )
- After taking other drugs like Ranitadine, I found out that they have serious health implications. If I had known I would have never taken these drugs

Mental training ( Positive )
- Ability to calm myself
- Ability to not focus on the burning/itchyness
- How to avoid problem situations
- Ability to discuss my condition with family/parnters

I am very interested in hearing about what treatments you have tried.
